Star is an cute and quiet APHA registered chestnut tobiano mare. She is 6 years, 14.2 hands, and has a great temperament and manners, along with a nice pedigree.
Star has comfortable pretty gaits, moving a little bit bigger than a typical Paint. She is an easy going horse that would be good for an advanced beginner, but she is not a lazy dead head and works great and forward for a more experienced rider. She would be an excellent addition to a lesson program, or great for a younger rider looking for a 4H or all around horse. Star would also make an adorable lower level dressage prospect.
She rides great english, but would also go western and has been ridden in a western saddle (very few times). She is a typical, downhill built Paint who does not have quite the conformaition to be any kind of jumper. She does trot over trotting poles and very small cross rails.
Star is a sensitive girl who doesn't take much leg to get going. She is extremely sensitive in the mouth and would love to have a rider with quiet hands, though if she is pulled in the mouth she never punishes her rider except for a little toss of her head, letting her rider know that she didn't like it.
Star has alot of experience trail riding. She crosses through water, step over logs, go through ditches, and is very traffic safe. She hacks out alone and does great in a group too leading or following.
Star is a wonderful, proven broodmare giving me a gorgeous half-arabian filly in 2007. She was an easy breeder, birthed easily, and mainted her weight well while nursing.
Star has excellent manners on the ground, in the stall and under saddle. She's never had any biting, bucking, kicking, etc problems. She turns out great with any horse. She loads and hauls well, and has experience being hauled to new places to ride. She also ties and bathes, the only thing she does not like is clippers, but stands for scissors to her bridle path. Good feet, has been kept shoeless.
